Volunteers’ Week takes place 1st till 7th June every year. It’s a chance to celebrate and say thank you for the contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK.

“OUR EKTA UNITY VOLUNTEERS ARE A LEGACY TO BE PROUD OF”

It is widely accepted that Ekta Unity’s volunteers are the reason for our charity’s success. Everything that we have achieved simply could not have happened without the commitment and enthusiasm of our incredible volunteers !!!

Our dedicated volunteers support our service users and our activities, and are central to the multiple legacies that the group have created. Their commitment to volunteering has been the reason why Ekta Unity was awarded the highly prestigious ‘Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service’. We can not emphasise enough that we would not have received this recognition without our volunteers, who do so many different things to help.

For each of our volunteers, the impact of volunteering has also had a profound and positive effect on their own personal wellbeing. The common thread in all our conversations with our volunteers is their enjoyment of the experience and the powerful knock-on effect this has on their self-confidence. They also feel highly privileged to be able to give something back to society.

One thing for sure is that all our volunteers feel empowered. Ekta Unity has given them the potential to be ‘change-makers’ and given them the platforms and the opportunities to amplify their voices. This is exactly what our mission is about…

Jasvir Sandhu, Ekta Unity’s Lead Trustee responsible for Volunteers said: “On behalf of the Ekta Unity Board of Trustees we are so very proud of our volunteers. They understand the importance of volunteering and work so hard and love helping out. Their volunteering helps our service users and our charity tremendously. Our volunteers continually show dedication and commitment, often going the extra mile to create extra resources to support our charity. We are so grateful to them for their hard work and support”

Ekta Unity looks forward to welcome all our Volunteers, once we return back from lockdown and begin our regular activities at St Paul’s Church, Foleshill, Coventry.
