As part of Ekta Unity’s efforts to keep in touch with our service users during the lockdown, we have regularly been delivering Care & Wellbeing Packs to over 200 service users, in the past 12 weeks. Ekta Unity will continue to deliver these important care & wellbeing packs to our service users for as long as our activities are closed at St Paul’s Church, Foleshill, Coventry – no matter how long this will be !

The recent Care & Wellbeing Pack contains easy-to-use activities, NHS resources and handy tips to keep everyone happy, healthy and engaged. The pack can be used daily or when our service users experience a dip in their mood, are bored or frustrated and contains a range of arts & craft activities and feel-good resources that will help to keep them active, develop knowledge, skills and understanding to enhance their wellbeing. We hope that the activities will also help them to deal with and understand some of the emotions they may be experiencing during these very difficult and challenging times.

Dieshy Purewal-Ekta Unity Trustee said: “During this time of uncertainty, isolation and social distancing, many of our service users worry about how they will cope. In our care & wellbeing pack, we have included activities that will help keep them occupied and active. In these challenging times of isolation we recognise that they may be feeling low, restless and lonely. We understand that these are uncertain times for them and we want them to know that we hold all of them in our minds in these difficult times and are here to support each and every one of them”

The photographs below show one of our service users: Narabdaben Gosai, taking part in some of the arts & craft activities contained in our recent Care & Wellbeing Pack. Narabdaben wrote to Ekta Unity saying: “Thanking you for giving me this care & wellbeing pack. I am so happy to do all of this. In my free time I do the colouring and I most enjoyed and finished the sewing key rings. All the activities are keeping me busy and active. Thank you to Ekta Unity for thinking about us during these horrible times. I appreciate it”
